Is the dogue de bordeaux (french mastiff) or the bull-mastiff not allowed by Homeowners insurance?

I've looked at some lists of breeds 'not allowed' by homeowners and neither of these breeds are on them. Do some insurance companies go by a certain list or are some more specific? I know not all insurance companies have these restrictions because I have Siberian Huskies (which are included on the list) and my homeowners is okay with it. Also, of these two breeds, which do you think would be better for families with other pets and children? I lack experience with these two breeds and I'd like to learn more about them. Thanks.
